December 2-3, 2006

Sunday December 3,2006 saw JTBA hold its 28th successful Adult-Junior event at the beautiful Southwyck Lanes in Toledo. Thanks to Sherry and her always great staff for another well hosted event. Also thanks to Randy Hart for providing a great shot that seemed to hold up well all day. Everyone seemed to enjoy the friendly fun and competitiveness of the day. Hopefully word will spread and next year this event will grow. Tentative plans are for this event to be moved to the first weekend in November so that the High School Bowlers will not be left out.

Scoring was brisk on the modified house shot as former JTBA titlist Joe Bailey of Doylestown, OH lead all qualifiers at a torrid +311. Bailey also shot the high game of the day with a 299. High game for the boys was Jon Leonard of Medina, OH with 290. Boys leading qualifier was Tim Pfeifer of Cranberry Twp. PA at +151. Bailey partnered with Wadsworth, OH’s Chris Alkyer to lead the doubles field at +320. Second was the team of Mathew “Big Wheel” Anderson of Davisburg MI, along with exciting crowd favorite J. Neville Kirby of Midland, MI at +281. Once match play began the excitement continued as there were a lot of close matches, but after four rounds of best of 3 match play games, Moon Twp. PA’s “Big Ben” Galloway and Johnstown PA’s, Larry Parks came away with the hardware. They defeated 4 time JTBA champion Adam Metzger of Erie, PA and 6 time JTBA champion Jason Wunderlich of Homestead, PA 183-143.
