Heibel and Postolka Capture Crowns in Columbus

Wayne Webb's beautiful newly remodeled Columbus Bowl in Columbus, OH. was our host for the final regular season event of 2011. Thanks to Wayne and Elaine and their staff for being great hosts and providing a great environment for 119 (45 girls) for this event!! The 1st block saw 11 players managing to eclipse the 200 mark as Mary Wells of Westerville, OH. was the only girl at +59 to break par for the first 6. Bryce Postolka Notre Dame College player from Northfield Center, OH. lead 10 boys to go over at +146. It took a score of -125 for the boys to advance to the 2nd block and -164 for the girls.
High game for the girls was 257 by MJMA star Sarah Lokker of New Baltimore, MI. in game 6 of qualifying. High game for the boys was by Kodie Stout of Vincennes University and Vickory, OH. in the second game of block 2. Stout recorded his second perfect game of the JTBA season in a month being perfect at the 2011 JTBA New Glass Bowl Open earlier in May. Stout started the block strong with a 269 then the 300, once again as in Toledo falling just shy of the 800 mark recording the 2011 JTBA high 3 game series at 795!! The 300 was enough to propel Stout to take the top spot in the Stepladder Finals finishing at +270, followed by Postolka at +198. The 3rd spot went to 2011 Junior Team USA member and Notre Dame College star Chris Via of Springfield, OH. last years JTBA Rookie of the Year finished at +155. Our 4th seed was Justin Netherland of Port Clinton, OH. at +85. Netherland would have to wait to see who he would face in the first rung of the ladder as a pair of Sylvania, OH. and University of Toledo players would have to roll off for the 5th seed as they tied at -82. Chad "Bite up Ten" Rieger and USBC Collegiate 1st team All-American and Rookie of the Year Sir Charles Easton provided the fire works striking often in the roll off!! Nice guy that Chad is, needing only a mark in the tenth to deny Easton his opportunity to obtain his 3rd JTBA title of the season, he politely left an 8-10 split to help Easton in to the steps 228-214. Easton continued striking defeating Netherland 246-202, then Via 237-168 to face the colorful Postolka. Easton's fate turned as a foul in the 8th frame would be his downfall to let Postolka go for his 1st JTBA title 216-212. Postolka and our leader Stout would both hammer the pocket in the final but a 3rd frame 4-10 by Stout, would be all that Postolka needed to garner that 1st title and the $600 1st place prize 245-212!!! In the girls division Wells continued her plus ways in the second block to take the top seed at+58. Second was Lokker at -23, followed by Sierra Kanemoto of Dayton, OH. at -130 and 4th another Notre Dame College player Jerracah Heibel of Meadville, PA. Heibel would assure a Notre Dame sweep of the 2011 JTBA Columbus Classic by running the ladder!!! She was steady in the 1st two matches defeating Kanemoto 202-162 and Lokker 203-168 but poured it on to defeat JTBA Player of the Year Wells 234-190. This was Heibel's 1st JTBA title winning $430 for her effort Next up the 2011 JTBA Championships June 4 and 5!!! Qualified athletes have received their schedule and entry forms!! We will begin check-in at Phil Baker's Southwest Bowl at 10:00 A.M. on Sat
