Congratulations to our 2011 JTBA Isaly's Pittsburgh Junior Masters Champions on January 16,2011 at Nesbit's Lanes in Pittsburgh. In the girls division, the final 4 were last event Champion Ashley Howe of Greensburg, PA. Courtney Barney of Columbus, OH. , Annie Beliles of Verona, PA. and 2010 Pittsburgh Junior Masters Champion Alana Hall of Hermitage, PA. In the semi-final match it was Barney defeating Beliles 2-0, 195-170 and 190 -154 setting up a repeat of last months girls's final as Howe advanced by defeating Hall 2-1 170-137, 174-234 and 179-146. Howe then strung the final 5 strikes in the final for a narrow 176-166 win!!! This is Ashley's 3rd JTBA Title!! Howe led qualifying at - 87 while Hall had the high game of the day against Howe in the Semi-finals at 234. Howe earned $335 dollars for her win while Barney garnered $201 for second!
On the boys side Cole Hensley of Pittsburgh, PA was the lone player in the field to go plus at 33 over for qualifying on the demanding Seoul 39 foot pattern. High game for the guys was a 269 in the round of 16 by East Cleveland's Martez Walker. In the semi-final round of 4, Javon Trout of Greensburg, PA. defeated Walker in a close match 215-207. In the other semi-final match Anthony Santoro also of Greensburg defeated Tyler Snow of Smock, PA. 202-181 to set up an all Greensburg, PA. final. JTBA newcomer Santoro then used a couple of untimely splits by Trout in the final to win his first JTBA Championship in his 1st ever JTBA event!!! For his efforts Santoro took home a $700 scholarship while runner-up Trout earned $400. Walker netted $250 and Snow $150. Junior Gold Qualifiers were Martez Walker, John Boyd III and Bobby Stewart.
Our next event will be the 2011 JTBA Emerson Lanes Classic in Parkersburg, West Virginia on February 13, 2011. So far with the help of Beth Brookover we have secured over $550 added money from a number of local sponsors in Parkersburg. Emerson Lanes, The Mountain Company, Bob and Janeen Kirkbride, Jeff Thomas-State Farm Insurance, LDBBowlingball LLC, Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal, and Chip's Bowling Shop. This will also be an optional Junior Gold qualifying event!!! Entry forms are downloadable below.
