Rainbow Lanes in Columbus was the place for the JTBA’s final regular season event of the 2008-2009 season. Our thanks to Tricia, Rick, Bob and all the staff for their great job of hosting. Special thanks once again to the Isaly Co. for stepping up once again to add money to this event.
Bobby Bures
Joy Arrigo claimed her 4th title of the 2008-2009 season and 7th career title by besting her Westerville, OH bowling buddy Mary Wells 178-204, 192-188 and 208-160. Arrigo once again able to deliver the great shots at just the right times. Arrigo locked up the girls points championship title over Heidi Sanders, our leading qualifier at -57, with Sanders being eliminated in the round of 8 after having a chance to double in the 10th to move on. Arrigo reached the title match by besting Marrisa Matassa of Verona, PA 170-204, 212-161 and 203 165. Wells earned her berth with a two game win over Lyndsay Eisenhauer of Clyde, OH 200-150 and 158-142. High game for the girls was a 224 by Matassa.

On the boys side Bobby Bures was not to be denied his 3rd title of this season as he began the round of 16 with a perfect 300 in the second game of match play. He continued to throw strikes as he bested Mark Mantle of Westerville, OH 215-156, 172-182 and 234-139 in the semi finals. To set up the Championship Match Eric Bracken of Brighton, MI defeated Jay Foote of Worthington, OH 166-161, 157-229 and 259-224. Both bowlers finding the pocket with great ease as the 35 foot Cheetah pattern broke down towards the finals. Bures then was able to maintain his ball speed on the wood lanes to garner an exciting win. 212-187, 178-258 and 223-201. High qualifier on the day was Mark Mantle at +72. Only 4 players managed to average over 200 in qualifying.
