August 5-6, 2006The JTBA season opening visit to Imperial Lanes in Toledo saw two veterans take home titles, as 69 entrants participated in this seasons opening event. We’d like to thank the entire staff at Imperial for rolling out the red carpet for us, including opening early on Sunday morning, as well as laying out the pattern we requested. Special thanks once again go out to Randy Hart for his expertise in providing this months lane pattern. Lindsay Coulles of Centerville OH moved closer to the all time girls tournament wins record by taking home her 20th career title, pulling her within one of Lisa Bishop for first on the all time wins list. Coulles defeated Christina Huttinger of Zelienople PA by a final score of 213-193. Coulles was also the high qualifier on the ladies side, at -14. 3rd and 4th place finishers for the girls were Christine Bator of Warren, MI and Ashley West of Columbus, OH. The high game of the event was rolled by Bator at 268. The boys side of the event was won by Tim Pfeifer of Cranberry Twp. PA, his first career JTBA title. Pfeifer defeated John Grundy of Ashland, OH in the title match 248-238. The third place finisher was Eric Bracken of Brighton, MI. Fourth went to Bobby Bures of Mentor, OH. Our qualifying leader was Josh Burkhardt of Beavercreek OH, at a stellar +237. Congratulations also go out to Chris Creeks of Zelienople PA for recording this seasons first 300 game. Our next event will be sponsored by Isaly’s and will roll at Stonehedge Place in Akron on August 20th, with a 9AM start. We hope to see everyone there. A quick reminder that anyone who cashed in Toledo, is required to become a member of JTBA before bowling their next event. Finally, thanks go out to Dyno-Thane for once again providing a bowling ball to raffle off at each even this year, all to benefit our scholarship fund, as well as Isaly’s for their continued support of the JTBA.
